Hi, I’m Michela!
I’m an Master’s Level Licensed Clinical Therapist, Board Certified Neurofeedback Clinician, and the owner of three businesses that integrate counseling/coaching with neurofeedback.
My own therapy journey started at 19 and led me to pursuing a career in mental health, opening Connected Brain Counseling in 2021. I grew from a soloprenuer to a group practice in a matter of months, hitting 6 figure years from year one.
What is the secret sauce, you ask? Offering more than just talk therapy. Clients are hungry for it! And I am passionate about having a constructive, data driven approach to mental healing.

Do I need a certification (or degree) to offer neurofeedback?
How to get a neurofeedback certification?
As we like to say...neurofeedback is like the wild, wild west. So nope, no certification or degree (of any type!) is required. to offer neurofeedback. However, neurofeedback is a steep learning curve, so we suggest enrolling in a training program to learn the modality successfully.
Can I harm my clients with neurofeedback?
You have a two main options! First, you can complete a course like The Clinician's Guide to Adding Neurofeedback to learn everything you need to know on how to run a successful neurofeedback program in your business. When you are ready to further your education, getting a Board Certification in Neurofeedback from the BCIA is a great option for boosting reputability to your clients. We are certified mentors to supervise your hours through the BCIA.
Though neurofeedback is incredibly safe for most ages and symptom presentations, you want to ensure you are running the correct protocols to avoid minor side effects such as agitation, sleep disruption or nervous system dysregulation. Overall, neurofeedback is a safe and effective modality with few downsides even when run by a new practitioner!
Can I work with you 1:1?
What is the difference between EMDR and neurofeedback?
EMDR involves a structured process where eye movement is tracked in order to process memories through verbal communication with a therapist. Neurofeedback requires no talking...in fact, you're just watching a TV show or listening to music while your brain learns passively!
Yes! You can work with Michela 1:1 on an hourly basis for $250 / hour to review brain maps, develop protocols, go through case studies and more. Discounts for hourly meetings are offered for full coaching clients.
Do you offer Mentoring for Board Certification Hours?
Yes! Michela is a certified mentor through the BCIA as you accrue hours for your BCN. Please reach out for details on pricing.
